Ternocon 2024
Ternocon is an annual fashion show and exhibit celebrating the Philippine national dress, the terno. For this year, the theme is Kasarinlan, Kultura, Kasuotan, or Freedom, Culture, and Clothing, in time for the Independence Day celebrations in June.
I took inspiration from the show’s venue: the Museo del Galleon, a future seaside museum that would honoring Philippine maritime heritage.
I developed a main key visual that incorporates nautical and cartographic elements with national symbols and colors. Key to the illustration are the 3 women representing the Philippines’ island groups of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, wearing regional variations of the terno.
The client extensively applied the illustrations in the venue, cascading elements to different sizes through their own design team.
